[OT] Anyone used Apache OpenMeetings?

Hi all, sorry for the somewhat off-topic post. I'm curious if any of
you out there have any experience using Apache OpenMeetings for
virtual meetings/collaboration. Adobe Connect has its limitations and
I'm always on the lookout for something better. If you've used
OpenMeetings, please contact me directly off-list; I'd love to hear
your experiences.

I can't comment on Apache OpenMeetings, but I did just want to mention that Adobe Connect is very difficult to use in low and inconsistent bandwidth scenarios.  Even when watching a recorded session it doesn't seem to effectively download and cache the stream, even when paused.  If there is some solution for this or another service that works better for those of us with bad internet connections, I would be grateful. :)

Has there been any progress on this?  I am still struggling to watch or listen to the live forums because of local bandwidth problems and, because of the way that Adobe Connect works, the same often happens when trying to watch a recorded forum as well.  At this point I've basically given up trying to watch these meetings; it would be very helpful if there was some way to be able to download a recorded meeting.

In an unrelated question to your off-topic post (heh), are others having trouble calling the freeconferencing Skype user?  I have that user has a Skype contact but it never picks up when I call it.

Yes, I have the same issue with the Skype freeconferencing account.  I've been dialing into the (+1.712.432.0075) number directly (using Skype Pro from Boston), but assume that would be more expensive for those of you in other parts of the world.
