Installing MDS for SANA

Hello All, 

We are trying to install MDS to be able to connect SANA with OpenMRS. After following through the instructions on configuring MDS, we are faced with 

You don't have permission to access /mds/ on this server.

when trying to access http://<ip address>/mds 

We do not have anything meaningful either in the access or error logs. 

Has anyone attemped to link MDS and OpenMRS and faced this issue before?
