Reference module for building similar module.

Greetings!

We are building a system in which the data is taken directly from medical devices such as pulse-oximeter, ecg etc, and shall be stored in a repository along with the patients' information.
We have to build a module which can store such information. We are actually new to OpenMRS. I have tried with the basic module (create your first module exercise). Can you please guide me to some similar/analogous module, whose code we can checkout for reference, mainly which demonstrates how to build the table and associating view, controller and joining the data from patient, observation table etc.
