Hello,
I'm working with a team developing a module and we're interested in the practicality of the demo data. Our biggest question is how representative the demo data is of an actual instance of OpenMRS. When looking through the database at the demo data, there appears to be many columns that are just populated with null and are never actually used. One example of this is the death_date column in the person table.
In regards to death, does a patient stay in the system even after they die and they to be manually removed. Or, does the system remove them after some time period past their death.
Along the same lines, we're curious as to whether relationships are used between individuals commonly in a real instance of OpenMRS.
We have noticed that the demo data has some inconsistencies, such as pregnant men, and we're wondering how the demo data was actually created - whether it was randomly generated or some other method.
I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this question as it relies on real OpenMRS data, but hopefully someone here may be able to push this question in the right direction. Or potentially know of a way we may be able to get better demo data that is more representative of a real instance of OpenMRS.
Thanks,
Jason
