I don't know if there's anything universal. "Dx" (like Rx is used for meds) is commonly used in the States for diagnoses. Another possibilty would be a stethoscope. Though, Font Awesome's stethoscope isn't the greatest... I supposed it's better than the tripod.

From a pure design perspective, I'd just recommend showing the top torso (head and shoulders) of the patient with a magnifying glass over that portion (perhaps just the head, or the upper chest). "Problem" solved. :-)
