Hello MDS WG,

For more context about this week's meeting, we will mainly be discussing how we move forward with support for new modes in MDS. Since we put an initial proposal to the working group, we have had several conversations and received a great deal of useful feedback. We have revised the modes proposal here (track changes can be found here).

Key changes in the revised proposal:

• Answered the question of "what is a mode" 
  
• Proposed a specific mechanism for associating modes with API requests
  
• Restructured our approach to linking multiple trips together to use a journey_id that creates a clear hierarchy of trips
• Added a trip_attributes field to allow mode-specific trip information
• General clarifications and clean up
  

One key outstanding item to discuss is 1) how we implement mode-specific policies and 2) the general behavior of Policy in a multi-modal world.

Please review the revised document prior to the meeting on Thursday. We will be discussing the relationship between modes and Policy, and will have the opportunity to review and get feedback on any of the other changes.

• Add your public Policy API feeds here
• Discussion area for Agency/Provider Convergence. Leave your thoughts please. We will schedule a meeting for just this topic in early 2022.
• New issue for how to provide modeling level examples in MDS to account for 80% of policy use cases and implementations. Please discuss
• We have a feature branch now and a Pull Request where work can start on Modes infrastructure
