Hello all,

given the geogit build in hudson (http://hudson.opengeo.org/hudson/view/geogit/) has been temporarily disabled by our sysadmin to alleviate the server load, I just chatted with him and decided I'll spend some time trying to make the geogit build run faster/require less resources.

For instance, there are a bunch of performance related tests that I know consume time/resources, and I think we should move them out of the default build and be run with a specific maven profile.

I'll spend some time doing so in order to get our continuous integration back. If anyone has more ideas on how to make the build lighter weight speak now.

Cheers,
Gabriel

i.e. its kind of unacceptable that the build takes ~36 minutes. It certainly runs much faster on my box but its faster than the build server and I've my /tmp mounted in a ram fs.
Unfortunately we can't mound /tmp on a ram fs in the build server cause the geotools and geoserver builds leave a lot of files in there that are not cleaned up so it would fill up too quickly.
