OpendTect (Free) and OpendTect Pro + Plugins (Commercial)

Dear Users,

OpendTect version 6.6.8 is the first version with two separate releases: a commercial version and a free version. The commercial version (OpendTect Pro + Plugins) only runs with a valid license, or on free data sets, like F3-Demo, Penobscot and Delft, that do not need a license key.

If you want to upgrade to v6.6.8 while your license has expired, please be aware that until you upgrade your license via the Pro Store, or by sending us a PO, you will only be able to run the software on the free datasets. You cannot use the free functionality as was the case in previous versions. 

To use the free functionality while your license has expired, you need to install the free version. 

Please do not uninstall the commercial version as we currently have an uninstall problem on Windows. We are looking into this and will release a patch as soon as we have a fix. To install the free version, we recommend installing this in a separate installation folder, e.g. C:\Program Files\OpendTectFree
