Unable to install Opendtect on ubuntu 24.04

Hi,

I just upgraged my ubuntu to 24.04, but am unable to install Opendtect. The error is 

Could not initialize GLX

./bin/lux64/Release/run_installer: line 173:  7301 Aborted                 (core dumped) "${curdir}/od_instmgr" "$@"

I have installed the nvidia driver as per some recommendation online and rebooted, but still getting the above error. 

Would appreciate any suggestion to solve that issue.

It might be moot, but Opendtect was running smoothly on Ubuntu 22.04.

Hi Sami... and all other users of Ubuntu 24.04,

Our colleague has completed quite a number of tests and the findings are as follows:

On wayland when using the environment variable I am also able to run the installer.

I expect that:

QT_XCB_GL_INTEGRATION=none ./OpendTect_Installer_lux64.sh

Will be the workaround for most users.

We would be interested to hear from you if this works, or if you face any remaining issues after using this command.

Thanks for the reply. I actually solved it, as you recommended by adding an environment variable to my .bashrc  of 

QT_XCB_GL_INTEGRATION=none
