Dear all,
I would like to convert some vitnage 2D seismic lines to SEGY format. Do you know if there is any code (matalab, other?) available for converting the image data to a digital format?
Thank you in advance.

Hi Christoforos,

I've never used this, but img2segy, a python utility from Sixty North AS seems to do what you are looking for, see https://github.com/sixty-north/img2segy

Best regards,

Paul.

Dear Christoforos,

Before loading 2D seismic into OpendTect, the specific line geometry (or geometries) need(s) to be imported from file first.

Under

Survey>Import>Seismic Data> Simple File>2D,

a graphical user interface offers Import 2D seismic from simple flat file.  Two different data formats are accommodated:

 ASCii or binary.

Outside of OpendTect Python code will probably offer you the largest flexibility to address your question: https://segyio.readthedocs.io/en/latest/segyio.html

Best regards,

Uwe
