Hello,

When I change the color of a 2D line in the tree and save my session, the color is not kept after I close opendtect and reopen the session which is a bit annoying as I have to redo it every time.
I wondered if it was a bug as it is not the case for any other item of the tree (horizons, fault sticks etc.) and if there was a workaround.

Thanks to all !

Hello Guilhem,

You will need to save your color settings first for the specific 2Dline. Please see the image below for guidance:

Thanks for the very quick answer Hesham. Unfortunately I was talking about the colour of the trace at the surface not the colour bar of the attributes. It seems to be "sea green" by default and each time I restart, the colour of each line is reset to it (as the line width which is 3 by default).
I am not sure it is fixable.

Hi Guilhem,

If I understand correctly, you are referring to the base color of the 2D line.

If that is the case, you can change the color by accessing the line properties. To do this, double-click on the line name in the tree

Hope this answers your question.

...and if you do this in the View>Basemap window, the newly assigned line colors (assigned in Basemap window, not in the 3D Scene) will stay the same.  Please let us know, if this works for you? Thanks.

@Hesham: it is exactly that. The problem is that each time I close ODT, it seems to reset the color to "sea green". I don't manage to save the display setting of the track (colour, line width) and have to set it again each time.

@Uwe: thank you for the answer. However I 'm not sure to understand what you mean by the "Basemap window" (I can't find it in the View menu). When I restore my session, I have one "scene 1" window which is the 3D scene that is created by default when I created my project. If I add a Mapview window (Scene\ New Map View  --  maybe the basemap you talk about ?) and if I add my track in this Map View tree, I can change the colour but I have the same problem if I close my session. At the reopening, the colour of the track is reset to "sea green" and the width to 3.
Maybe I don't understand the windows and data storage of ODT. I do everything from the 3D scene window as it is open by default. I don't understand the use of (and difference with) the map view.

Hi Guilhem,

I see now. This is not necessarily a bug, but rather a currently missing feature in the free version.

Regarding Uwe's suggestion, the base map tool is part of OpendTect Pro. If you are not using the Pro version, you may not have access to that specific tool to save those settings.
