Dear Sir/Madam,
I have a study area that includes more than one seismic survey. I would like to display all of them together within a single project. The data consist of multiple 2D seismic lines, in addition to other seismic cubes.
Could you please advise on the best way to handle and visualize these datasets together in one project?
Kind regards,
Mustafa

Hi Mustafa,

In OpendTect, all data is referenced to a single survey grid setup that links inline/crossline values to X,Y coordinates. Inline/crossline ranges can be modified in the Survey Setup window to include neighboring 3D surveys, and negative values are permitted. Please note that 2D lines and wells do not need to be within the survey boundary.

To load multiple 3D surveys, 2D lines, and wells into a single project, please follow these steps:
  1. Set up the survey: Use one of your 3D seismic datasets. If you are using SEG-Y, the setup will be defined by the inline/crossline ranges and the X,Y transformation found in the SEG-Y headers.
  2. Adjust ranges: Change the inline/crossline ranges so that all neighboring 3D surveys fit within the survey boundary.
  3. Import additional 3D cubes: In the SEG-Y data loader, enable the "Use (X,Y)" toggle. This ensures the seismic data is mapped correctly onto the defined survey grid.
  4. Load 2D lines and wells: You can import these using the standard process, as they are independent of the survey definition.
Best regards,

Paul.
