Hi all, I am importing  well markers in bulk like:
Import/Wells/Bulk/Marker..
they load just fine, i can see them. I save the session, but when i close and open opendtect they are not there any more ( and i tried several times).
why is this happening and how can i avoit it ? I really need the markers to be there for my project.

Thank you,

Cecilia

Is it possibly a time/depth issue?

Hi Cecilia,

Please check in the Well manager whether the markers have been imported correctly. If you see them there, the markers might not display by default.
After loading the well, double-click on the well name in the tree (or right-click and select Display > Properties) to open the 'Display Properties' window. Click on the Markers tab and check all the markers you'd like to see, like in this image:

Please let me know if this works for you.

Best regards,
Nanne

Hi,

Thanks Nanne, when  I loaded them I checked and they were there, ase you’re describing, I actually changes the colours of the Markers I was interested in, one by one in over 30 wells.. When I opened the session next time, wells were not there.

I finally “solved” the problem by loading the wells as “Well/bulk/tracks” and then the markers. Before I loaded the wells as Well/Well locations.. and after that bulk/markers. I don’t see why this didn’t work, but apparently there is some problem.

Since I have you here, how can I  automatically associate my markers to the regional markers (which are color coded), I had to do it manually :

It is a bit of work having to do it for each marker and each well.

Thank you again,

Cecilia

Hi Cecilia,

At the risk of creating more confusion, please be aware that "Sessions" in OpendTect are not reflecting the content of the database (as in Petrel).
Sessions are points in your work that you save so that you can come back the next day without manually having to reload all elements in the tree, returning to the same display position etc.
If you restore a Session that does not show markers while your markers are present in the database, then this suggests the session was saved without markers in the display.

Best regards,

Paul.

Hi Paul,

Yes, that was my first though when I didn’t see the markers. But that was not the problem, they were not in the well manager anymore nowhere to be found, regardless of the scene/viewer .. :/
