New AVO Formulation and Advances in Bayesian Inversion with the LTrace Inversion Suite
Presented by: Dr. Leandro Passos de Figueiredo, LTrace

In this session, Dr. de Figueiredo will introduce a new AVO formulation integrated into the Bayesian Linearized Inversion (BLI) framework. This approach:

  • Provides more accurate reflectivity predictions than the Aki-Richards standard

  • Outperforms alternative formulations by Foster et al. and Verm & Hilterman

  • Enhances facies classification by directly estimating P-impedance and Vp/Vs

  • Simplifies uncertainty quantification, parameter tuning, and QC

  • Improves computational efficiency

The webinar will also showcase recent updates to the LTrace Inversion Suite plugin for OpendTect, including:

  • Multi-trace, multi-well wavelet estimation

  • Low-frequency modeling for trend volume generation

  • A new QC interface for inversion-to-well data comparisons

These enhancements deliver greater accuracy, flexibility, and usability in seismic inversion workflows.
