OpendTect-Machine Learning Patch Release 7.0.4b

Dear OpendTect users,

We have made a patch release for our latest stable version of the Machine Learning plugin: OpendTect-ML 7.0.4b, which is now available for installation/update.

To install or update to the new version, either use the 'Installation -> Update' option from the Utilities menu in OpendTect or download the Installation Manager from our download center:

This update provides a new version of the pre-trained fault-net model, to enable transfer training from that pre-trained model. Kindly note that this model requires good 3D images of size 256x256x256 for any type of training. 2.5D workflows, as well as the ability to use smaller image sizes, will be implemented in the coming patch releases.

The new version of OpendTect comes with updated Python packages, as this new version of the fault net model requires the python package onnx2torch. Please ensure that this package is installed if you wish to do training using the PyTorch platform, and are using your own python environment.

The updated python packages are not fully backwards compatible with OpendTect 6.6. Users that wish to keep using OpendTect 6.6 with its current python installation are recommended to make a copy of their OpendTect 6.6+Python installation to another location before running the update to OpendTect 7.0.4b (only applies if you already have an installation in a common location).
