Hi all,
I am running 7.0.0 on a Mac Pro (28 cores). I put cubes in RAM.

3D picking performance is hit or miss, sometimes it is very fast and most times it takes forever and uses 99% of the CPU for all cores.

Any thoughts ?

Also, is there a way to tune the number of cores used by OpenDtect ?  All my cores and virtual cores are pinned down....
I couldn't find it in User Settings

For the OpenDtect PID, CPU went to 5200% for 172 threads ...

Hi Vincent,

Thank you for reaching out. Another user has also reported a similar inconsistency in 3D Horizon tracking performance. We are investigating the issue and it's hard to offer a solution at the moment, but in general, if OpendTect turns unusually slow, restarting the application is often helpful.

Best regards,
Raman

Yes, I saw that works. Thanks for letting us know. I will investigate further about number of threads etc when it works well, and report my findings.
Yet, with all the popups when restoring a session, I get tired ... See my other posts about issues.

After restarting, 173 threads and 130% CPU. Fast.
