No valid survey setup found

Hi,

I'm trying to create a new survey for a project. I am scanning the segy file containing a 3d cube.
The quick scan result window seems to be good, but on the bottom left, opendtect returns <inadequate data> (cf first screenshot).
If I'm pressing the ok button, a error message pops up (second screenshot).
the In-line/Cross-line range and the X7Y coordinate range seem good.
Any one ran into such issues ?

Hi,

OpendTect needs to find the transformation from inline/crossline numbers to X/Y coordinates. Although your data indicates that there are values in all 4 trace headers, these numbers may not be consistent. Please investigate the numbers by plotting these on a few lines (press the looking glass icon). You can also scan the entire cube to see if the message disappears. If OpendTect cannot create a project from the SEGY, you can do so using one of the other methods. The easiest one (after reading from SEGY) is by defining the grid and transformation from 3 inline, crossline / X,Y pairs, two of which should be on the same line. Once the project is set up, you can load the SEGY from inlines and crosslines.

Hi,

Thanks for your answer. I found a way around, I need to invert the inline and xline. The inline field in opendtect being the xline from the segy, and the xline field from opendtect being the inline from the segy.

I'm not sure why, but at least it is working,

Hi Zalina,
I think the problem comes from how opendtect understands inline and crossline - I feel like it may vary depending on software.
In my case, I had to invert their definition:
inline (in opendtect) = crossline (from segy)

crossline (in opendtect) = inline (from segy)
