Daymet data access

Good morning,

When trying to access the Daymet NCPP (link included on this page: https://daymet.ornl.gov/web_services) I get the error in the image below:

Is this a possible issue on my end or are there server issues?

Hi Thomas, 

Thanks for reaching out. I believe what you are experiencing is a consequence of NASA’s effort to migrate their data archives to cloud storage. The data remains available through the OPeNDAP service, but unfortunately the URLs have been updated and there is no redirect from the old service to the new updated one. That is out of our control.

We recommend for you to search for the updated OPeNDAP URLs, and there are a few ways in which you can do so. For better automatization and reproducibility, we recommend using PyDAO, a free python library to query the opendap urls of interest. For query all URLs of interest you will need:

- Install pydap and python>=3.10

- Knowledge of the Concept Collection ID or the DOI of the dataset of interest.

In the case of Daymet there are various different dataset / collections. These are available on the official NASA data product, for example:

                      https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/data/projects/daymet/data-access-tools

To actully search for data, you may need to run code on a terminal (iPython) or a jupyter notebook with pydap installed. For examples on how to install PyDAP, and how to use PyDAP so query OPeNDAP URLs from NASA, you can inspect the official PyDAP documentation in the following link:
