Bula from Fiji,

I have been struggling to download  from

Contents of /allData/ghrsst/data/L4/AUS/ABOM/RAMSSA_09km/

I am trying to use the Get NetCDF 4 link to download data but it keeps resulting in this error

OUCH!

Something Bad Happened On This Server.

The specific error message associated with your request was:

File out netcdf, failed to write double attribute _FillValue: NetCDF: Not a valid data type or _FillValue type mismatch

If you think that the server is broken (that the URL you submitted should have worked), then please contact the OPeNDAP user support coordinator at: opendap...@jpl.nasa.gov

I have tried various things, from changing the number of variables selected to changing the index of individual variables.

Any useful hints, tips, links, tutorials or videos to help me solve this would be appreciated.

Vinaka,

Jasha

Hi Jasha,

This has previously been an issue, but based on the version of the server in question (Hyrax-1.16.0) I would have thought it would be handling this correctly.

Since it's not it will require some additional investigation which I need to schedule.

I don't have an easy work around to offer you at the moment, but I will let you know when I learn more about this issue.

Sincerely,

Nathan

Hi Jasha,

The server at podaac-opendap.jpl.nasa.gov needs to be upgraded to Hyrax-1.16.2 or later in order to fix the problem you are encountering. I have contacted them regarding this.

There may be other ways to achieve your goals.

I see that you were asking for the response as netcdf-4.

Would you mind sharing with us the components of your workflow?

What application(s) are you using to process the netcdf-4 files on your end?

I ask because these "clients" may be able to talk to the server directly, without using an intermediate netcdf file.

Sincerely,

Nathan
