For those not on the netCDF-Java or THREDDS email lists, just wanted to
let you know that there is a vigorous discussion about a potentially big
change to how the netCDF-Java library and the THREDDS Data Server (TDS)
handle GRIB data files.

If you write software or scripts that use OPeNDAP to access
atmospheric/climate (and related earth sciences) data, it may be of
interest to you.
Basically, some variable names need to change; the most general solution
would involve changing all variable names. So it would impact any
scripts that use variable names to access affected data.
