Hi,

I use Huawei onu with Broadcom OLT. I want to have data flow between OLT and ONU. Using the OMCI packet I created mandatory MEs which are required for data flow in onu. MEs which I created includes Extended VLAN tagging configuration data,
MAC bridge service profile,
MAC bridge port configuration data,
VLAN tagging filter data,
IEEE 802.1p mapper service profile,
Multicast GEM interworking termination point,
Multicast operations profile,
Multicast subscriber config info. All attributes of MEs are set according to the G.988 protocol.
My problem is when config onu in bridge mode I have data flow and everything is ok but when config onu in route mode I don't have any data flow. Is there any solution for solving this problem?
thanks

Hi Omid,
When the ONU is configured the gateway mode, the ONU is no longer OMCI managed afaik. This would likely mean that various packet matches would fail at the OLT for packets arriving from the ONU (like vlan tag, gemport, alloc-id) and I will not expect the end-to-end traffic to flow in this case.
A good compromise for here would probably be to use VEIP mode at the ONU. The WAN side of the ONU would still be VOLTHA/OMCI managed while the LAN side would be managed by you. Does that make sense?
Also I am curious about how you managed the Huawei ONU via VOLTHA - do you have a custom adapter (closed source) for that?
