This is it, the vote for v1.0.0 of the image specification.

This tag is effectively the same as the rc7 tag, but with the version bump.

Hey y'all,

That's unanimous LGTM on tagging v1.0.0.

Congratulations to all involved. It has been a good 2yrs of work and reaching this milestone for the container runtime and image format. 

The Open Container Initiative has continually achieved a very fair and equitable conversation. Hearing, validating and accommodating broad spectrum of use-cases, but still maintaining the momentum of what we've already found to work or needs to exist for compatibility.

The release is tagged as "v1.0.0" and pushed to https://github.com/opencontainers/image-spec/releases/tag/v1.0.0

 

While the schema and validation (./schema/) may continue to iterate and improve, this release specifically covers specification documents (pdf, html, or ./*.md) and reference golang source (./specs-go/).
