MP4 vs. WEBM

Hello

 

For https://arch.ethz.ch/studium/studieninteressierte/Filme.html, we had reports about the player (video.js) not working reliably with videos we provide from Opencast, particularly with Firefox. The person in charge of the CMS tells us WEBM is to blame because “about:config -> media.webm.enabled -> false” seems to solve the problem for Firefox.

 

Anyone had similar issues?

Hello Olaf,

Firefox 102.15.1esr with media.webm.enabled = true (the default value)
doesn't show any issues, the videos are played without problems.
