Hello,

I have spend todays afternoon trying to install Opencast using the instructions provided for CentOS 7.X and Fedora. None of them work.

Can anyone point me to some instructions which point to a working installation gui not involving having to build everything by myself?

Hi Mike,
the instructions on https://docs.opencast.org/ should work. If there is
a problem in a specific step, please let us know and we will try to
help and fix the problem. It' hard to help if we do not know where you
failed.

Note that for CentOS, there are two guides. One for the installation
from source and one for the installation from pre-build RPMs where you
do not have to build Opencast.

Regards,
Lars

Hello Lars,

Thank you for your reply. I ll restart the CentOS deployment (RPM-bases), starting with a fresh install of CentOS 7.2 and write down, when it fails.

Mike.

Hi Mike,
yes, exactly that was the problem. The testing repository is an
additional repository. New packages will be pushed there first and then
be moved to the stable repository a bit later to avoid accidentally
pushing a broken RPM into stable.
Best regards,
Lars
