Hello,

we are struggling with a strange font for our encoded videos (see image attached).

I found out, the cover image is being created in workflow "ng-partial-title-slide.xml" which refers to "/etc/opencast/branding/coverimage.xsl".
This XSL needs font family "Arial" but there is no Arial installed.

fc-list shows me the following fonts:
/usr/share/fonts/lyx/eufm10.ttf: eufm10:style=LyX
/usr/share/fonts/lyx/cmsy10.ttf: cmsy10:style=LyX
/usr/share/fonts/lyx/msam10.ttf: msam10:style=LyX
/usr/share/fonts/lyx/cmmi10.ttf: cmmi10:style=LyX
/usr/share/fonts/lyx/wasy10.ttf: wasy10:style=LyX
/usr/share/fonts/lyx/esint10.ttf: esint10:style=LyX
/usr/share/fonts/lyx/rsfs10.ttf: rsfs10:style=LyX
/usr/share/fonts/lyx/stmary10.ttf: stmary10:style=LyX
/usr/share/fonts/lyx/cmex10.ttf: cmex10:style=LyX
/usr/share/fonts/lyx/msbm10.ttf: msbm10:style=LyX
/usr/share/fonts/lyx/cmr10.ttf: cmr10:style=LyX

By the way, i did a minimal install of CentOS 7, what explains the missing font.
But how do i get the correct needed font?

Best regards
Sven

Hi Sven,
truth to be told, I have only a vague knowledge of how the cover-image
service internally works, but can you check what happens if you set the
font to „Sans“ instead?

Hello,

I want to provide my solution.
It was not that complicated, i just followed https://superuser.com/questions/616629/how-to-install-mangal-ttf-on-linux-centos to install our University typeface and changed the font family in the coverimage.xsl.

But what i noticed, some entries in the coverimage.xsl are not being printed to the resulting image.
There should be the start date and time of the recording, but the images lack this information.

Does anybody notice a similar behaviour?

Best regards
Sven
