Delete serie from engage

Hi all,

I'm trying to delete an empty serie that only appears into the engage, not in admin-ui and neither in API. I tried to do it with /search DELETE /{id} with the serie_id but it doesn't work. It's the same method that I used to delete events. Is there any other REST endpoint to delete it.

Hi Jose,

You can try using the /series DELETE /{id} endpoint[1] on the presentation/engage node.  If that still doesn't work, then likely you need to rebuild the indexes on the affected machine.

Hi Greg,

I tried with the /series DELETE /{id} endpoint and it didn't work. I also tried rebuilding both indexes, admin-ng and api, but the serie is still appearing. Can I do anything else to delete it?

Hi Jose,

Have you tried rebuilding the search solr index? 

This will be on the presentation machine, in data/solr-indexes/search inside your opencast directory. Stop the opencast service on that machine and move the whole search folder somewhere safe (in case things go wrong you can just move it back later). When you restart the opencast service it should regenerate the solr search index. It can take a while if you have a lot of recordings but you should see things happening in the log.
