i'm a nice user of opencast

i install by following this link https://docs.opencast.org/r/11.x/admin/#installation/debs

i change this file  org.ops4j.pax.web.cfg

i also generate the keystore.jks

(i dont install java)

Hi,
from the image you sent in you last mail you can determine that
Opencast seems to connect to https://localhost:8443 which fails. That
probably means that you did not follow the basic configuration guide
[1] and did not set your hostname.

The second thing you can partly see in that screenshot is an exception
related to TLS connections. You did configure internal TLS but my guess
would be that you did not provide a certificate which is valid for the
domain you configured (localhost) or which is not trusted.

We generally discourage people from using the internal TLS set-up and
encourage people to use a reverse proxy like Nginx instead since it
usually performs better and is arguably easier to set-up.

It may also help to take a look at the talk of installing Opencast will
all additional components in 30 minutes [2]. That was an RPM-based
install but it's very similar to the one based on the Debian packages.

but i can't upload video always pending status

i'm using self-signed certificate (create by openssl it's just for testing).

Hi,

Check the admin UI, are there any services in an ERROR state?  Do you have any external workers, or is this an all-in-one?  From the log, it looks like things should be working, but the jobs clearly aren't happening, which means either you're missing workers, or there are services in ERROR.

Hi,
my guess is still the TLS certificate. If you used a self-signed
certificate, you must make Opencast (or rather Java) trust it in the
same way you would need to accept the exception in your browser,
explicitly stating that you want to accept this certificate.

I can only see parts of your log but my guess would be that prior to
the part you sent you will find Opencast's health check trying to reach
sub-components, being unable to reach them and then marking them as
temporarily unavailable. This would lead to Opencast not starting the
workflow operations since the modules which would do the work are
marked as unavailable, essentially never starting the processing.

My suggestion:
- Get a valid certificate e.g. from Let's Encrypt
- Try without TLS for now; Studio may not work with all browsers
- Import your self-signed certificate into the Java key store (don't
ask me how to do that :D)

the problem with the self-signed certificates is, that it also must be added to the global JAVA keystore (cacerts). Pls. Refer to the docu:

In my local test system, the following solved this issue:

openssl req -x509 -nodes -days 2048 -newkey rsa:2048 -keyout key.pem -out opencasttest.pem -config selfcert.req.conf -extensions 'v3_req'

cat opencasttest.pem key.pem >testcluster.pem

keytool -import -noprompt -trustcacerts -storepass changeit -alias testcluster.myopencast.de -file /root/ssl/testcluster.pem -cacerts
