Hi everyone,
It's time: „Rüdiger's money“ is here!

As we discussed at the architecture meeting in Bremen, we want to have
semi-regular meetings to decide what exactly we want to use these
resources on and how we can best improve Opencast's architecture.

If you participated in the meeting, you also already know my colleague
Manuel (CC) who will coordinate the work. So, please welcome him and
expect him to organize a meeting about the next steps soon.

As a short reminder: We decided at Bremen that we wanted to tackle how
we store metadata in Opencast first. Going away from the good old XML
files we keep on the file system. But we still need to decide on the
details.

All the best,
Lars

Hello everyone,

thank you Lars for introducing me. As you said, we should probably start
with a meeting about the next steps concerning the storing of our metadata.
There we could probably also determine the regularity of these meetings.

So for a start I'll just propose a few time slots for next week in the following Doodle:

If that doesn't fit your calendars, please let me know and we figure out another time.

Until then, best wishes,
Manuel

Hi Manuel,

Thanks for organizing!

Note that if I’m not mistaken, Oct 30 - 2pm UTC clashes with the SysAdmin meeting.

Best regards
Matthias

Matthias is right. Also all Germans should be aware that next week we'll
be on winter time, so keep that in mind when calculating from UTC. ;)

Do we have a date for the architecture meeting? The earliest would be today, but maybe that's to short of a notice?

Hey everyone,

I see that by now 4 people have voted on a timeslot and the best fitting one is today at 2 pm UTC which is pretty soon.
As Matthias said, that's on short notice, but I would suggest that we meet up anyway and see, what happens.
I'm sorry that I overlooked the SysAdmin meeting on Wednesday and the resultig time collision.

See you soon,
Manuel

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend. Was there any outcome of this
meeting? Is there a date for the next meeting?

Yes. elan e.V. will prepare conceptual documents for the next meeting.
Also we decided to have roughly bi-weekly meetings. For the day and
time Manuel wanted to open another vote, but I have not seen that yet.
