Future of the project

Dear Annotation Tool Community,

as you all know, our common, beloved Annotation Tool has been going through a bit of a rough patch these last couple of … years, really. We are slowly coming out the other end, though, which is great! To facilitate that process, and to ensure we don’t run into similar situations in the future, I would like to discuss some changes to the governance of the project that I came to after some deliberation over the last couple of weeks, and that I would now like to move forward with.

I would like to do this in an “extra-curricular” meeting, preferably some time next week. Please fill out the following poll until Friday EOD, at which point I will send another mail with the finalized date.

I will also write up my proposal in email form and send it to this list as soon as that’s done. I’m just not sure whether I can get to that between all the meetings today, and I wanted this pool out the door ASAP. But you can definitely expect that some time this week, so you can adequately prepare questions and rotten tomatoes. ;D

The end of the day is approaching and two options have crystallized as the best, of which I will arbitrarily pick:

Monday, September 18th, 11:00 to 12:00 CEST.

The “user faction” from Münster hasn’t voted, but I hope that you can still send a “representative,” since the topic concerns the “Münster changes” as well. If not, Matthias will have to tell you everything or you have to wait for my email summary which people will undoubtedly want me to write after the meeting. ;D

Speaking of emails: I promised a preview before the meeting, but unfortunately didn’t get to it. Instead of rushing one out now before I start my weekend here, let’s just heighten the suspense for everyone a bit more; I wouldn’t expect anyone to read my stuff over the weekend, anyway.
