Hi, I'm exploring the Open Contracting Data Standard as a potential way to make New York City's government contracting processes more transparent.

I'm curious if anyone here is in NYC or has had any conversations with NYC-based organizations, agencies, activists, etc about utilizing OCDS in the city.

I'd very much appreciate a connection to anyone in NYC with interest in OCDS.

My plan is to:
* build an Airtable version of OCDS
* collect public information from various sources to see how much info the city is already releasing related to the standard
* organize an event with civil servants, civic technologies and good government activists to build interest in this standard.

I'm doing this as a self-organized civic tech volunteer with experience advocating for open standards among NYC civil servants and political activists.

Very curious what people think about this approach, how activists have brought OCDS to their local governments, etc.

Thanks for building this very interesting standard and organizing this community around it!
