Since the Q has union sign how can the set contaion "or".

Union signs mean OR, and intersection signs mean AND.

An example to make this simpler to understand: 
Let set A={1,2,3}, set B={3,4,5}
A union B would be={1,2,3,4,5}, this means if any number that is considered is an element of either set A or set B, it is an element of the set A union B.
A intersection B would be={3}, since it means that any number that is considered is an element of both set A and set B, it is an element of the set A intersection B.
