1. Listserv:
a. It is super to start 2026 with many new Listserv members! Please ask colleagues if they want to join; if so, the easiest way is for you to send their names and addresses to me. If you haven’t reviewed the guidelines recently, click on https://www.omahasystem.org/listserv and consider if you have news to post and share with our approximately 3,000 members. Our Listserv is monitored.
b. We are also trying to contact members whose email addresses are bouncing back. Thanks to those of you who have submitted updates. Will appreciate receiving an email from you if you know colleagues who have changed their addresses or left employment.
2. Photo Gallery (https://www.omahasystem.org/photogallery):
a. Three groups of photos were posted recently:
>>Many Omaha System community members are included in new 2025 photos from the American Public Health Association and American Medical Informatics Association conferences!
>>Photos from the September, 2016 Omaha System Japan meeting were found recently, thanks to our colleagues in Japan and our Webmaster! That meeting marked the formation of a new practice, education, research, and informatics organization by dedicated individuals who are responsible for sharing the official Japanese translation of the Omaha System. However, the initial translation dates prior to 1999 and is documented on References with publications authored by Yuko Bessho!
b. IF you organize or attend a meeting, class, conference, or other event that has a significant Omaha System focus, please consider sending a group of 4 or more photos to me for the Photo Gallery. Note the guidelines and other photos. The first photo in the group identifies the event. Often included are photos of individuals, small groups, and large groups. No names are included.
3. More requests: To continue our “Communicate and Collaborate” theme (!):
a. I would appreciate receiving an email if you are/were or know of others who are/were working with the Omaha System in Indonesia or India. New and exciting Omaha System work is underway in those countries.
b. Will be great if you live in a state, region, or country and want to increase your Omaha System networking. You are invited to increase your Omaha System networking by posting on the Listserv and asking others to contact you directly (list your email address in your message). Send an email to me if you prefer to have me post your message. A number of us plan to share updates and highlight successes from practice, education, research, and informatics in the coming months.
My email address is below. THANKS for all your contributions!!
