Lots of things for our members to know!
.) Register your hives. This is a WA State Department of Agriculture requirement. Due April 1st. Minimal late fee after that date. New beekeepers do not have a late fee since they may not know how many hives they will have.
.) Dewey's annual winter loss / success survey. If 20 OBA members complete, we can get specific data for our club. Open through April.
.) Beecheck.org "BeeCheck is a voluntary communication tool that enables beekeepers and pesticide applicators to work together to protect apiaries through use of the BeeCheck mapping program." Let them know about the location of your hives. "Pesticide applicators consult this registry before spraying to improve decision-making and minimize damage from spray drift."
.) Bee cartoon
