I did a full inspection on my Snelgrove hive today, Snelgrove day 32.
The bottom two deeps (colony B) had brood, eggs, honey, nectar, and pollen on both levels.
The super had 3 frames with drawn comb of which 1 had beautiful, capped honey and the other 2 had plenty of nectar.
In colony A, there was plenty of pollen, nectar, honey, and bees. I found larvae and eggs on frame 7, larvae on frame 6, and eggs on frame 5. I think this is good news.
I did not isolate colony A onto a new bottom board. I will wait a week to see that the larvae get capped and if so, I will isolate colony A at that time. I will close the door at night and prepare to move the colony to a new bottom board with a screened entrance first thing in the morning and move them to my "away" apiary.
It was very rewarding to see larvae and eggs in colony A. I hope my reading of the situation is correct and that my plan is good!
Thoughts?
