I started beekeeping in 2020, took a few years off while I was pregnant and did not fit it my suit, and just picked up 2 NUCs for this year after my hiatus. One of my new hives is extremely defensive/aggressive such that I can barely be outside for a few days after an inspection. Now that I have a bunch of young kids (who love to be outside), I realize my beekeeping hobby is not compatible with my stage of life right now.

I'm looking to rehome my bees and equipment. I have a bunch of equipment, boxes, frames, supers, hive tools, smoker, and a motorized extractor. I am not asking for money, but more of a barter for honey and possibly the opportunity to help with other people's hives so I can continue to learn about beekeeping. The extractor was quite expensive and it still works great, so I'd like to recoup the investment with honey. Again, I have a bunch of stuff so maybe this division of equipment can go out to a few people who need it. Please let me know if anyone has any interest.

Chloe,

Have you re-homed your bees and equipment? If not, I might be interested.

I’d be interested as well to help rehome.

A potential solution in this situation is the Club Apiary!

We have room for more hives. You could work them remotely.  There is plenty of storage too. If you want to donate your processing equipment it could go in to the equipment bank that we host.

Fell free to give me a call Chloe if this is  potential solution.

For the others who weighed in,  this could be a solution where everyone gets a win. We could use them to help seed more NUCs to distribute to the club members.

Regards
Nathan
