Dear OBRA Community,

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season. With the snow finally starting to arrive, it looks like winter sports enthusiasts in our community are getting what they’ve been waiting for—I know I am.

The 2026 OBRA race calendar is now live. These events represent the submissions we’ve received from our race promoters so far, and there will certainly be more added in the coming months. I want to specifically recognize and thank our cyclocross promoters for the cooperative effort that went into building a more thoughtful and functional calendar. The process required real compromises and sacrifices, and that kind of collaboration is what strengthens our racing community as a whole.

As many of you know, securing venues is one of the most challenging aspects of race promotion during the off-season. While every effort has been made to lock in dates, some adjustments may still be necessary as venue conflicts arise. Several events are already linked, and registration is open for races using BikeReg.

The date for our annual meeting has now been finalized. This year’s meeting will take place on February 28 at Chris King Precision Components. While this is later than our traditional schedule, we’re grateful to Chris King for their continued partnership and for generously providing their space for both the meeting and our annual awards. Their long-standing support of OBRA is deeply appreciated.

We have received a handful of racing rule change proposals. These will be published once our rules review committee has had the opportunity to ensure the language is clear and that no conflicts exist within the current ruleset. In addition, we are still accepting candidates to run for the OBRA Board of Directors. If you’re interested in serving, please reach out to me directly at cke...@obra.org.

Finally, as you know we reserve OBRA Chat for current OBRA members. We will remove all the current members of the group around January 15 then add back all the current OBRA members. Please renew your membership before then if you don't want any disruption in access to Chat.

I hope to see many of you at the annual meeting. Until then, have a safe, healthy, and fun-filled winter.

Best regards,
Chuck
