USAC upgrade points

Hi OBRA land,

I’m racing in a USAC race this spring. I don’t have any USAC race points/experience, but race as an OBRA cat 4 on the road. 

Does anyone know if OBRA races would count towards a USAC upgrade from novice to cat 4? A quick google search was inconclusive, and I’d really a USAC upgrade. I’m not sure if there is any sort of reciprocity agreement.

Conner, you can self select cat 4 in both OBRA and USAC.

Hello,

similar question, 

in OBRA I race cat 3 on the road. I have requested to align the categories with USAC, so I can race tour de bloom as 3. Unfortunately this is what I got back from USAC

anyone has an idea what to do?

Stephen,

USA Cycling does, however, recognize OBRA categories. Since you are an OBRA cat 3, USA Cycling should make you a cat 3. I am happy to help sort this through with them if you like. 

With regards to Connor's question, in both OBRA and USAC you can self select up to cat 4 on the road.
