Don't Let the ".05 Rain" Scare You – Sasquatch Duro Update!

Hi Riders,

We’re gearing up for Round 2 of the Oregon Triple Crown this weekend in Carlton, and I wanted to clear the air—literally—regarding the forecast.

Thank you to the community of Carlton, City, Police, County, and Sheriff's department for the collaboration along with Public Works. Special thank you to Visit McminnvilleVisit CarltonCycle Yamhill County for all the great resources and to our winery sponsor at https://sokolblosser.com/

🌤️ The Weather Reality Check

If you’re looking at the rain icons for next Friday and Saturday, don’t panic, they are gone, and it was only .05, so all good!

What does .05 mean for you and 45% of the area?

  • No Dust: It’s just enough moisture to keep the gravel tacky and fast, so I won’t be dusting you out at the start. It will be chilly so base layer and vests are encouraged

  • No Soak: Most of that is slated for overnight. It is not raining significantly. Don’t let a tiny icon keep you off the start line!

Enough with the weather!

Weekend Schedule 4/9-4/11 for Round #2 of the Oregon Triple Crown

Thursday, 4/9 at noon, Online Registration ends LINK to sign up

Friday, April 10th: Shakeout & Packet Pickup or Reg

  • Shakeout Ride: Meet at 12:00 PM, departing at 12:30 PM.

  • The Perk: Stick around for a free meal from Bomba Paella! 2-3:30 pm, see Website for details, supported by the Adventure Squad team

  • Packet Pickup: Head to the Carlton Civic Center In Carlton from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Park in town, do not park in the legion hall across the street as it's reserved for another event

Saturday, April 11th: Race Day

  • On-Site Registration: Available morning-of for any last-minute friends.

  • New Categories just added: Sasquatch: Minimum 210lbs, The freight trains of the gravel world. You’re built to crush chunky flats and dominate the headwinds. Where the lightweights stall out on the rollers, your momentum takes over.  Yeti: Min 170lbs. A powerhouse of the open road. This is for the women who bring raw grit to the washboard and thunder to the gravel.

  • Email me if you want to roll with this short course special category. People have been asking this MTB guy about this, and yes, it's happening for this event

  • Grand Departure: 10:00 AM sharp. Long followed by Short route with Carlton Police Assistance.

  • Tommy's Bike Shop on course and the Bike Peddler on site in the am

  • Remote finish is 4 miles from town, so take 4 off the actual race distances

  • 8 Certified flaggers on course, but don't ever assume they are stopping traffic. They try hard! Rules of the road and a taillight is always a good choice

🏅 What’s Waiting for You

Your registration isn't just for the miles; we're making sure you're taken care of:

  • Custom Gear: Sasquatch Duro socks included with every entry.

  • Fuel: A $14 meal voucher valid for the community and on-site vendors for quick service this year.

  • The Vibe: We’ll have live music, local wine, and a great post-ride atmosphere.

  • Shatterproof Podium Wine Glasses at 2 and 2:45 pm

  • Bad ass Sasquatch Duro Shirts for sale while supplies last, $25.00, and 100 free custom posters to the first to show up. Men's and Womens Specific Tri-Blend

  • Saturday, take your special ones to a Winery after the event or stay the night

It’s going to be a classic spring day in Oregon—perfect for gravel. See you in Carlton!

PS Volunteer as well as we could use one more Packet Pickup Friday afternoon and Saturday am, along witn a few more sweeps.

Volunteer spots are located on all of our event registration and equal 20.00 per hr towards race fees in the form of a credit, so volunteer next weekend and race for less in the future

Best for a great Easter Weekend, my first as a Grandpa! WO
