Welcome to the 2025 PDX Long Rides series, presented by Cyclepath PDX!  Your home for those crucial winter base miles.  Welcome to ALL.

Sunday mornings, off-season Z1/Z2 endurance riding. Goal for October: get comfortable riding EASY as a group. This is challenging as most group rides are 'spirited.'  We must break this habit and relearn how to ride slow in the off-season.  October is our chance to reset, establish our training intentions for the winter, foster group ride etiquette, and start building that base fitness.

These regular Sunday rides will be posted over at the Cyclepath PDX Strava Club page.  Routes will change weekly, as will the weather conditions and start location as appropriate. Always check the Cyclepath PDX Strava Club page for the most accurate info for each week's ride.

Day/Time: Sunday, October 5, 2025; 9am for coffee courtesy of Cyclepath PDX and a ride-series briefing; 9:30am sharp we roll-out

Start/End Location: Cyclepath West, 2714 NW Thurman St, Portland, OR 97210

Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/52860808
Quick water/store stop at Mile 41. Hilly, endurance builder at minimal intensity.

Pace: Zone 1/2. Purposeful on the flats, very chill on the climbs. Conversational pace, pre-season training camp vibes. This is the base miles pace your coach says you should do, but you often ignore and ride too hard!

Equipment: Road or Gravel bike; 28mm tires or bigger. Route includes two long gravel climbs, no problem on a road bike with good tires. Fenders are highly encouraged if rain is in the forecast.
