You may be thinking...
*How do I register?
Online at OBRA.org, click the schedule tab. Preregistration ($20 general) is available until 5pm Monday prior your race and onsite ($25) cash or check. Popular forms of magic digital monies accepted, really well thought out compliments and advice may be also considered as forms of payment but subject to a panel of celebrity judges.
*Will there be prizes?
Perhaps! And maybe paper money!
*Must I be an OBRA member?
Indeed! One day licenses are available if you are just passing through.
*Where is PIR?
1940 N. Victory Blvd, Portland. Just yell it into your phone and do what it says. Traffic sucks so ride your bike if you can.
*Who makes this happen?
The Oregon Bicycle Racing Association, our sponsors Castelli Cycling Wear and Fat Tire Ale, and a staff of a few people dedicated to keeping bike racing fun, positive, and inclusive.
*Where does my race number go?
On the right side, easily legible when you are in riding position. We will likely go clockwise every week for the sake of scoring accuracy.
*Is everyone cool?
Yes. If they aren't, let us know and we will send them home.
*I'll be coming from work with a backpack full of priceless artifacts. Is there a safe place to stash them while I'm racing?
They are probably fine in my farmer truck by the staff and medical tents, just don't judge my rolling dumpster. There are some spare tubes and blinky lights in there if you need them.
Most Importantly, am I welcome? This is a big one, especially in light of recent international rule changes. YOU ARE VERY MUCH WELCOME HERE. We love this sport and need everyone in to know that in Oregon, you have a place in bike racing.
Official flyer with more details to follow, and feel free to reach out with further questions.
Yours, Tony
