GCN+ is dead.

Thanks to corporate greed, we can’t have nice things.

This is going to hurt the sport of cycling.

It was so much better than all the other streaming services for bike races.

So frustrating! Please don't make me go back to Flo for race coverage!
GCN+ and a VPN was the best for live and on-demand race coverage. My guess is that it is now all going to Euro Sport.

I have to say though, I do not understand why they went into the direction of all the original content. Super costly production with, in my mind, very limited value.

I read somewhere that content was moving to discovery + and Eurosport. If everything is on discovery, that would actually open it up to a wider audience and not just a niche service.

I just bought a VPN so I could watch the World Cup races on GCN+ (FloBikes is not worthy of a paid subscription, IMO).  I see that all the European countries have an alternative (discovery+, Eurosport), and only US viewers are left without an option.  I'm wondering if it will be possible to use the VPN to subscribe to one of those services?  Subscribing via VPN should work, but I wonder if a US credit card number will throw a wrench into it.
Details of alternatives by country are listed here

Mike,

It sounds like that is the solution using the App.  My gut says to go with the United Kingdom App to make sure it is in English.    Let us know if you are able to purchase a subscription with a US credit card using your VPN in England.

Best,

Paul

In theory, the live racing will be going to Discovery+ but currently their sports streaming service is geo restricted and you cannot get it in the USA. I do not know if this can be bypassed by having a VPN connection or not. I have been using VPNs to watch all of GCN’s coverage of all races up until this point, but I am unsure if that will work for D+. If anyone here knows the answer to this question, I’d love to hear it!

My understanding is a US credit card will probably muck things up. Escape Collective (great cycling site) has a lot of coverage of this and several people in the comments have said it does. Someone said they went thru the app store to add the Eurosport app and that worked. I have a VPN and have poked a bit at Eurosport and it appears they do paypal, too. I have no idea whether that will work from the states or not but it's another option. I didn't try to subscribe as I'm waiting to see if workarounds or other options come to light.
