The CYAC Tentative Subject List for 09 CYAC, September 25, 2023 is now available at: https://classweb.org/tentative-subjects/2309y.html

If approved at the CYAC editorial meeting on September 25th, the headings will be added to the Library of Congress CYAC Subject Headings. LC catalogers and SACO participants are encouraged to review the tentative list and provide substantive input on the proposals. Comments and suggestions should be sent to cyac...@loc.gov

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Stacey Devine

P.S. I sent the following comment on Portals:

150 Portals    [May Subd Geog]    [sp2023050012]
Portals do not have to be magical. The references are not parallel to portals in general. The AAT scope note for portals is "Refers to impressive, monumental entrances, gateways, or doorways usually to buildings or courtyards, especially those emphasized by stately architectural treatment."

The heading should probably be Portals (Magic) or Magic portals.
