Join us for a presentation by Dr. Matthew Hayek, about food and climate change followed by a climate-friendly lunch! Opening remarks by Dr. Sonali McDermid.

Lunch will be offered to all guests, with to-go options. Please RSVP so we order food accordingly.

This will be an in-person event that will be live-streamed on @nyu_green.

Dr. Matthew Hayek is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Studies. He received his PhD in Environmental Science and Engineering from Harvard University. Prior to that, he received his bachelor’s in Physics from Wesleyan University. Dr. Hayek’s research quantifies the environmental impacts of our food system, with a specific focus on greenhouse gas emissions and contributions to climate change. He has published numerous papers in atmospheric physics, forest terrestrial ecology, and agricultural management.
