Are you ready to deepen your impact and lead high-quality service-learning with confidence?

NYLC’s Certificate in Instructional Leadership (CIIL) is designed for experienced educators, youth development professionals, nonprofit leaders, and program directors who are ready to elevate their work through advanced training in instructional design, curriculum development, and service-learning pedagogy.

This professional certificate program equips you with the tools and frameworks to:

✅ Build staff capacity and lead service-learning implementation across your organization

✅ Design and assess transformative service-learning experiences for young people

✅ Align service-learning with academic outcomes and civic goals

Choose the learning format that fits your schedule:

🔹 Asynchronous Option – Learn at your own pace through Google Classroom. Includes optional monthly Community of Practice sessions held the second Monday of each month (3:00–4:00 PM CST) for reflection, problem-solving, and connection.

🔹 Synchronous Summer Intensive – Join live virtual sessions for real-time collaboration, discussion, and expert facilitation.

🗓️ Summer 2025 Intensive Dates:

  • Monday, July 14 | 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM CST

  • Monday, July 21 | 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM CST

Participants in either track will gain hands-on experience applying service-learning frameworks such as IPARD, explore the role of reflection in youth learning, and leave with practical strategies to improve student engagement and outcomes.

Learn from real practitioners:

Julia Vickery, Program Director at the Abell-Hanger Foundation in Texas, recently completed the CIIL program asynchronously. The experience helped her clarify her program’s goals and gave her the tools to connect philanthropy and youth development through service-learning.

“It would have taken me years to find all of that on my own. To have it all in one place was beautiful.” — Julia Vickery
