For more than 40 years, service-learning has been central to our approach in empowering young people to make meaningful, lasting change in their communities. Earlier this week, we announced that we’re committed to expanding alongside the young people we serve and are ready to enter a new era!

Through a strategic reimagining of our mission and vision, we are excited to share that we are elevating youth leadership and youth voice as foundational pillars of our work alongside service-learning. This evolution reflects our deep belief that young people are not just future leaders—they are leaders today, capable of driving real change. By equipping youth with essential knowledge, skills, and the confidence to lead, we are fostering generations of leaders committed to creating a better, more equitable world. At NYLC, we believe The Future of Leadership Starts Here, and together, we can build stronger communities for all.

OUR NEW MISSION: To equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence, amplifying youth voice to co-create a more just, sustainable, and peaceful world.

OUR NEW VISION: We envision a world where every young person engages in social action and is recognized as essential to civic society.
