Many Cruising boats came out this weend for the Hudson River Race on Saturday and our monthly Pursuit Race on Sunday. There were 25 registered for the HRR, and at least a dozen boats came out on Sunday. Unfortunately, no races were completed because of a lack of wind. After a 2:20 delay on Saturday, we did start a race, but one by one many boats retired and RC finally abandoned around 4:30. I waited around until about 3:00 on Sunday for a start, but eventually gave up. I don't think they started a race after I left (please correct me if I'm wrong).
There is one more day of racing for the season: October 12th. This is also NBC closing day, and so we will start an hour earlier, with the PHRF start at 12:30 instead of the regular 1:30. Come on out and then enjoy Closing Day ceremonies, hosted by the Cruising Fleet. If you're able, reach out to Carol Marsh to volunteer with set up or clean up.
