Believe in Ohio Statewide Scholarship Program to recognize students for STEM Innovation and Entrepreneurship

To ensure that students from all parts of Ohio receive recognition, at least one (1) $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in each of Ohio’s ninety-nine (99) State House Representative districts, and thirty-three (33) Ohio State Senate districts. That is a total of 132 scholarships.

Only high school juniors and seniors (School year 2020-21) are eligible to apply.

Free Project-based Learning Professional Learning Community

PBLMatters is proud to announce a series of free Project-based Learning Professional Learning Community sessions that are available to any educator anywhere in the country. All sessions are facilitated by emeritus PBLWorks National Faculty, many of whom have authored project-based learning books on the featured topics. Each Professional Learning Community session is a combination of a presentation and an opportunity for participants to engage with each other and the expert facilitator. Sessions are held from 7-8 p.m. EST on Wednesday evenings. One contact hour per session is available. There also is an opportunity to earn graduate credit through Ashland University for an additional fee of $249 for those attending at least eight of the sessions. STEM Geospatial PD

During the 2020 - 2021 school year, STEAM Designated Ashland Christian School is offering the following FREE PD sessions on how to use geospatial technology within the classroom. During these sessions you will learn how to integrate content using geospatial technology for interactive learning experiences. 

  • Wednesday 2/17/21 4:30pm-5:00pm - ArcGIS Basics/Licensing & How to easily incorporate geospatial technology within the classroom!

  • Wednesday 3/17/21 4:30-5:00pm - ArcGIS Lesson Demonstrations (Westward Expansion & Journey to Bethlehem).

  • Wednesday 4/14/21 4:30-5:00pm - ArcGIS The Underground Railroad Lesson Demonstration & ArcGIS experiment/engagement with the tool!

What's Working Webinar

The Dayton Regional STEM School and the Ohio STEM Learning Network will be hosting a What's Working Webinar on February 17th from 3:30-4:30pm. During this breakout room centered webinar, participants will engage in discussion with colleagues from across Ohio to share wins from the classroom and gain insight, strategies, and resources to engage students. Register here.

The Past Foundation, ESCCO, the Central Ohio Hub of the Ohio STEM Learning Network (OSLN), and additional partners are hosting forums focused on sharing STEM best practices in all learning environments. These forums take place every first and third Thursday of the month from 3:30-4:30pm. Register for the forums here.
