Northwest Access Exchange (NWAX) is seeking to contract for dark fiber paths to connect its sites throughout the Portland metro area. The goal is to establish long-term rights to fiber between NWAX POP locations. This will give NWAX members better assurance that interconnection remains reliable and cost effective in the long term.
The request for quotes addresses NWAX’s need for up to 24 diverse fiber paths in the Portland metro area. NWAX may not have sufficient funds to do all sites, so not all paths are guaranteed to be awarded. Our preferred arrangement is 20 year IRUs, but 5 year and shorter leases will be considered.
