Urgent Maintenance on Route Server 2 (198.32.195.252): 2025-11-07 17:00-20:00 PT

What: We will be performing an upgrade of the version of BIRD that is running on our route servers. Recently the route servers had an issue with sending a BGP update with attribute 35 (“Only to Customer”) causing instability with the BGP sessions on the route server. Tonight we will be upgrading the version of BIRD to fix this issue.

We are only doing maintenance on Router Server 2 (198.32.195.252) tonight to make sure that everything is stable and will follow up with maintenance on Route Server 1 (198.32.195.251) early next week. 

Impact: BGP Sessions with Route Server 2 (198.32.195.252) will be interrupted while we perform the upgrade. Route server 1 (198.32.195.251) will remain up and unchanged during the maintenance to minimize any impact.
