Hello everyone!
My name is Charmaine, and I’m an instructor of Assistive Technologies, and also a lifelong user as I’m totally blind from birth. I’m new to this group, and I wanted to let you all know about my learning resource that I’ve made available for anyone, to learn from anywhere in the world.
Basically if you visit the link below, it’ll bring you to my website, an online learning platform that I recently built, called the Voiceover Learning Lounge.
It has that name because I started out just teaching Voiceover, the Apple screen reader for mac, but I recently decided to add NVDA to my growing repertoire to help out anyone who would like to have some training on how to use it.
On the website, you’ll find two ways that people can learn with me:
1. Pre-recorded audio lessons. Each lesson only covers 1 small topic, its not a course or a class, but a way for people to learn in a very fun and relaxed kind of way where they can choose what they want to learn about. My collection is growing and more lessons are added every week or couple weeks.
2. People can also book coaching sessions as well for more one on one help.
I hope some of you in this group finds this resource to be helpful, because I made it, to fill a gap that I noticed exists, where there aren’t many online resources that involve a blind user, helping other blind users learn their technologies in an accessible kind of way.
Please consider checking this out and passing along to anyone whom you think would benefit from this!
And if anyone wants to get in touch to learn more about the work that I do or how they can take part, the email is:
Thank you for reading and take care.
Charmaine
